Eye Primer Review

I love makeup. I love colour and what's a better way then making my eye colour pop!! So I went in search of a eye primer that would make my eyeshadow colours pop!! I had to pass through quite a few before I found the perfect one. My review will be based on 4 eye primers; revlon photoready, nyx eyeshadow base, ambrosia eye fx and urban decay primer potion. They are listed in the order in which I bought them.

Revlon Photoready
I came across this product at pennywise. It comes in a pen form which its quite convenient to just rub over the eyes. Its colour is cream. This product made the green pop buttttt...my eyelids started burning as if my eye was on fire. When I washed it out I remained with a bruise on my eyelids for about 1.5 weeks. I was unable to wear eye makeup. It however worked and stayed true to its name, eye primer.it gave me the colour i wanted but was it worth it?? No way!! The hunt began again....

Nyx Eyeshadow Base
I found this product at wonderful world. I heard about it from quite a few people so I bought one. It had a pearl effect to it. It is very creamy and it remains like this even after application. It turns your matte colours shimmery. For me, it made my eyeshadow a tad bit darker than the original colour. The creamy consistency of the eyeshadow base remained as though it was cream eyeshadow i was using. For me this base was a total failure.

 Ambrosia Eye FX
This product was purchased at the chic clique at munroe rd cunupia. It is a white base and is a little sticky. When eyeshadow is applied to it, it shows the vibrancy of the colour and it was quite similar to the colour I wanted to get. I was quite pleased with this base. It is reasonable and it works really well for me.

Urban Decay  primer potion
This one comes in a tube and goes on clear. It is not readily available in Trinidad as the other three products but it works. It is a bit on the expensive side but its worth it. Of the four products used this one lasted the longest. I used makeup remover to remove them all and this one took the longest to remove. This one also gave the result that I was looking for.

The picture below shows pink eyeshadow in each of the 4 primers listed above.

Recommendations:
If you are looking for long lasting eye primer and is not working with a budget, go with urban decay primer potion. If your are looking for an inexpensive one that makes your colour pop go with ambrosia eye fx and if you are worried about long lasting eyeshadow, you can always spray on some fix it spray. My personal favourite is "Model in a bottle".
